Walk Through spliffdance.com

"This is Nuggetry, Not Shaketry"

This is a GREAT little spot! I'm really picky, so you know this place is the truth. It looks almost like a residence, but don't be fooled. The address is correct, so park the ride. Walking up to the security door, you'll probably be greeted, by an emloyee of Nuggetry SD. They're polite and courteous from the beginning, so you feel like you're in a safe environment. Though it's not really decorated, I think the dark wood interior, and unlit candles in the fireplace give this dispensary a "home" feel, despite the hard little chairs surrounding the receptionist's desk. Something else I like-it's not too bright in the waiting room, and it's fairly quiet too. On the business end of things, the friendly receptionist verified me within 10 minutes, and I was invited into the beautiful bud room by the owner, Chubbs!

Now, first of all Chubbs is an admitted "Bud Snob". He tells us that he has put a lifetime into tracking strains and perfecting them. I think the proof is in the buds. He showed me the some of the purplest weed called Chunkle, it looked almost animated! This strain, I'm told, is exclusive to Nuggetry SD. Also the OG Herojuana. OH SHIT! That was some of the most beautiful, potent herb. Everyone is talking about it($20/g with a 5g maximum). They have some top rank representation in these jars. Strains like, Tsunami, 619NuggetryOG, and some hard ass GDP too! I was truely impressed. Plenty of bomb shit! I couldn't even begin to rename all the flavors here! But one thing's for sure - they were ALL NUGGETS! Frosty stanky dank nuggets. I made mention of that and Chubbs jokingly said,"Yeah man, this is Nuggetry, not Shaketry". After checking a bunch of strains under the nice magnifying lamps, I made my choices. One of them was the house strain 619NuggetryOG which I'm very happy with. Also, as a first time patient I was given a free gram of Super Silver Haze. It's really a nice Haze! That's a fine-fine sativa, baby. By the time I left, I honestly felt like this place was worthy of all the high praise it gets. The great staff, super-fire weed, and the clean, relaxed atmosphere, make this a dispensary that you should visit regularly.
Excellent Job Nuggetry SD!

What's Good At The Oasis?

This place is ok, if you're in the neighborhood. They thoroughly verified me after I walked through their two security doors, with my ID and original doctor's recommendation. The staff members seemed a little bit uneasy, or bothered by my presence. Something I really didn't appreciate. But, I was there to check their sensi stock, so I let it slide.

Once I got in the budroom, I saw about 20 jars on the counter, some underneath, and a dry erase board with the menu marked on it stating the prices of the various strains. A lot of em $45 an 8th. It seemed average, in a good way. So after I got my paper work situated, and took off my shades, the guy asked me what I usually smoke. I think he was just trying to see if I knew my shit. Naturally, I gave him a general answer. So, without saying anything else, he starts to open up some "hard hitting" indicas for me. But they weren't all that great lookin/smellin, to be honest. His outdoor lookin-Bubba Kush was the best one. I wasn't impressed.

Then this guy showed me some sativas. The Sour Diesel, though it smelled like real Diesel, was ALL shake - super tiny nuggs at best. It looked like a jar filled with greenish/yellow "Nerd's" candy. I looked at the embarrassing mason jar with discontent, and the budtender says, "It's not the bottom of the barrell, that's just how we got it". I let out a laugh, and moved on to the Trainwreck, which was one of the prettier TW batches I've seen. So pretty that I ended up buying a piece of it. Which is saying a lot because, I don't fancy TW. It's just something about that artificial smell. But I settled, only because it was his best sativa IMO. Afterwards, he told me I was getting 5grams for the price of an eighth, as a first time patient, which made it easier on me.

I was ready to go. I'd seen enough. He split the 5gram 8th in 2 for me, half Sativa, half Indica. TW & Bkush respectively. I was satisfied with my choices, but I felt they were running light on selections that were actually worth buying, so I had to buy those two. If you haven't been there yet, it might be worth getting your 5g 8th, as a first time patient. But I would explore SD a little more to get that fire!

Is It Really "California's Best Meds"?

Not quite, but it's pretty decent and worth stopping by for sure. They took around 10 minutes to verify my rec. I watched part of that Mike Tyson documentary, on the old school big screen, in the waiting room. It was kind of busy traffic-wise. But once I got inside the budroom it was gravy.

The menu, on a dry-erase board, listed indicas on the left and sativas & hybrids on the right, with suggested donations next to them. When I looked into the jars under the counter, I saw some good quality strains. It's pretty bright in there so you can really see your meds. And if it's not good enough they have magnifying lamps so you can get in on those trichromes. The budtender let me thoroughly examine anything I wanted, and was eager to break out the next strain. There were actually two budtenders, and they were extremely perky & friendly, a little bit too friendly for me (trading names & whatnot). But some people dig that.

In the end, I got 1/8, half OG Venom and half Louie XIII. They weighed it right in front of me, but I ain't gonna lie, the shit is taxed (Louie XIII was $70 for an 1/8th!). Good thing I had that $10 coupon out of The Reader, otherwise it would've been sort of a problem. They reminded me of the "free joint Mondays" a few times, and told me I could bring the coupon everytime I visit. They also gave me one of those little pipes, as a free gift for first time members. I think I might go back if I'm in the area, but not without that Reader discount.

Did you look at the two businesses on the right & left of Cal Best? Ha!

The California Green Room

That's an old pic from google earth, just imagine this building painted pale green. At any rate, this place is a poor example of a dispensary. Though I feel very strongly about this, I urge everyone to form their own opinions and see for yourselves.

Now, I went to this place a couple weeks back. The doors weren't locked. But, it was silent, dark, and barren inside. The "whole-in-wall, wizard of oz guy" verified me in like 2 minutes, but I had to wait for the patients before me to finish their thang. Which was no problem, I'm patient.

When I went inside the budroom, I was like "WHAT THE HELL, MAN, THIS IS IT!?!"

There was just, a stoner guy standing behind a glass counter, with about 8 or 9 mason jars, filled with various strains of GREEN HAY! This guy's lookin at me like I'm supposed to be impressed, or at the very least ready to purchase. Hell No. L.A. Confidential, Cheese, and Bubba Kush, were some of their flowers. But, they hadn't been cured, were trimmed like shit, and they all looked almost exactly the same! I sampled a wiff, and the shit was like hay. Every strain. I told homie, "I'm good on that" and went elsewhere. I just can't pay for trees that don't look/smell bomb, no matter what you tell me the name is. You shouldn't either. This was my worst medi-shop experience yet.

West Coast Wellness Farmacy (College Area)

Now, I gotta be honest with you. This was the first dispensary I've visited in America. So, I was a little nervous about standing on El Cajon Blvd. ringing this particular doorbell for service. But, I got over it really quick once I saw the younger looking, female budtender - she was all smiles.

She asked "Is this your first time?" and I replied "Yes, ma'am". She then asked for my original doctor's recommendation, which I provided along with my CA DL. She was pretty quick about phone verification. (I happened to be the only patient in The Farmacy). So she buzzed me in the next door... Once I got in the budroom, it was kinda like a bank, or check cashing joint. They had a little maze line, and a few windows waiting to serve me. As I approached the counter, I could read the menu, wich was digitized on a little flat screen monitor next to the budtenders window.

To be honest, The Farmacy is a bit pricey, I think the top strains are $65. They do have good quality, and the different budtenders are fairly knowledgeable about their products. I was recommended some Headband, that was FIRE. (Sadly, when I went back a few days later, the batch was weak. But, I really liked the flavor of the Blue Dream they dropped on me instead). The Farmacy lists concentrates on the menu, but they say they're out everytime I've asked about it.

The bottom line is this. The Farmacy was never crowded when I went in there, so I've never had to stand in the line. I liked the easy, sort of discreet parking lot, as well as the laidback budtenders. As for smoke, they do have a few smelly nuggets, so if you're in the area, check 'em out. (First time patients do get a gift.)
